My Mentor

This guy was kinda like my mentor. When I produced Foxy's "Stylin'" and it was getting alot of radio airplay, Kanye would introduce me to people in the music industry and tell them that he "taught me how to make beats." Truth of the matter is, he never "taught me," but I do admit that I learned from him. I hung with him off and on during the Jay-z "Blueprint" and "College Dropout" days. Then I disappeared....

Can I Live???

The year was 2004. My career was on the rise but my soul was at stake. On the brink of breaking into stardom as a producer, God stepped in and stripped it all away. All I was left with was Him. I learned what it really means to "walk by faith."

Throwback Reality Shows

Finally, some family friendly television. All you see on t.v. these days is sex, sex, sex. Honestly, my tv stays off most of the time, especially since I have an 8-year old son. But here are a couple of shows I can get into that are centered around a couple of hip-hop legends...

The Salt-N-Pepa Show is just that: salt and pepper, light and dark, etc... I grew up listening to their records. Sandy (Pepa) is still a party girl and is up for anything. She desperately wants to re-capture the glamour and glory of the old days. Meanwhile Cheryl's (Salt) life has gone in a completely different direction. She lives a quiet life in Long Island where she shunned the spotlight and has devoted her life to God. I can relate to this show, esp. when I work with some artists...
